About Us
In March 2023, the GECC Secretariat held an Encounter in Budapest. At this meeting, the participating countries entrusted Hungary with the leadership of the GECC for the next four years.
Our firm intention is to serve as a bridge between the countries. The secretariat includes 13 countries, all of which have vastly different languages, histories, habits, and lifestyles. Because of this, variations in how Cursillos are held have developed in each country. It’s crucial that we preserve the foundational charism and that we all consider the Ideas Fundamentales to be our most important guiding document.
We want to facilitate renewal, as the number of active Cursillistas has decreased in several countries since the turn of the millennium. We are therefore trying to find ways to reach and retain young people within the Cursillo movement. We also see it as an important mission to support initiatives that bring Cursillo to European countries where Cursillo weekends are not yet held. We are working to provide a supportive foundation for the Cursillo communities by organizing a prayer chain that spans the countries of Europe. De colores, Judit Várdai
En marzo de 2023, la Secretaría del GECC celebró un Encuentro en Budapest. En esta reunión, los países participantes confiaron a Hungría el liderazgo del GECC para los próximos cuatro años.
Nuestra firme intención es servir de puente entre los países. La secretaría incluye a 13 países, todos con idiomas, historias, hábitos y estilos de vida muy diferentes. Por ello, se han desarrollado variaciones en la forma de celebrar los Cursillos en cada país. Es crucial que preservemos el carisma fundamental y que todos consideremos las Ideas Fundamentales como nuestro documento guía más importante.
Queremos facilitar la renovación, ya que el número de Cursillistas activos ha disminuido en varios países desde el cambio de milenio. Por ello, estamos tratando de encontrar formas de llegar a los jóvenes y retenerlos dentro del movimiento Cursillo. También consideramos una misión importante apoyar las iniciativas que llevan el Cursillo a países europeos donde aún no se celebran fines de semana de Cursillo. Estamos trabajando para proporcionar una base de apoyo a las comunidades Cursillistas organizando una cadena de oración que abarca los países de Europa. De colores, Judit Várdai
